July 24, 2013

Sponsored by FHWA Office of Innovative Program Delivery

Online Registration

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Office of Innovative Program Delivery (OIPD) will sponsor a half-day workshop on Public-Private Partnership (P3) Analytical Techniques and Best Practices in conjunction with the TRB mid-year meeting (July 22-23) in Washington DC. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, July 24, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the USDOT Conference Center at 1200 New Jersey Ave. SE, Washington DC 20590.

There is no charge to participate in the workshop, but advance registration is required.

FHWA has developed a suite of educational tools called P3-VALUE to provide public-sector practitioners training in the rigorous process of conducting Value for Money (VfM) analysis to determine whether P3 delivery options would provide value. The tools are being supplemented with guidance documents, enhancements to incorporate benefit-cost analysis principles, and a P3 Best Practices Guide. This workshop will review efforts to date and engage participants in a discussion of key technical issues and how they should be addressed in these new resources.

Due to space limitations, registration is limited to the first 60 registrants.

The agenda is as follows:

8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Sign-in
8:30 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. Risk Valuation and Value for Money Analysis
10:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Enhancement of P3-VALUE to Incorporate Benefit-Cost Analysis
11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. P3 Best Practices
